”I head up mgr’s IT systems and solutions. I’m a Chartered Certified Accountant (although I keep that quiet!), a software architect and an IT analyst. I have spent most of my working life developing a variety of database applications to make our business and that of some of our clients more efficient and effective.
I specialise in developing and architecting business intelligence solutions and bespoke accountancy and reporting systems where “off-the-shelf” packages are not suitable. This unique combination of IT and accountancy gives me an insight into developing these solutions, most of which are a combination of science and art. Examples include a bespoke system to deal with complications on group and multi-entity reporting across numerous territories, consolidation of data from various cloud-based accounting software to enable decision-making across multiple companies simultaneously and a royalty reporting system for a major European TV broadcaster.
I joined mgr in 1989.
Outside mgr, I am a busy father of two, listening to my daughter playing the drums to the amazing Hollywood film scores composed and conducted by the one and only John Williams when not watching my son play basketball, cricket and hockey all over the country.
