Most Embarrassing moment:
Proudly showing my Jewish grandmother (imagine an older Maureen Lipman) around my first flat and when she opened the freezer door 3 packets of frozen bacon hit the floor with a distinct Thud Thud Thud. Just wanted the floor to open up and swallow up either me or the bacon.
Pastimes:
Recently become addicted to golf - not very good at it yet but love the challenge so go out as often as possible. Messing about on boats on the river.
Football Team:
Tottenham Hotspur - finally we look like we could be on the way to better things!!
What's the best piece of advice you've been given, and by whom?
My grandfather told me when I was 18 you are able to do anything you put your mind to and that a positive mental attitude will override most of life´s obstacles. He also said that life was not a rehearsal and you should live each day to the full, keep a smile on your face.
A few interesting facts:
- Alan Marks appeared on the London Palladium Stage when he was a teenager.
- Alan Marks gave up work for two years to bring up his two sons when he was a single father.
- Alan Marks is married to a Deputy Head, so has to be on best behaviour at all times or it´s detention for him!
- Alan Marks has raced camels across the beach at Sharm el Sheikh.
